Sergio Paez is a San Francisco artist specializing in storyboards, animation, and visual development for TV, feature film, and games. His animation credits in the United States and Europe include projects for Pixar, Lucasfilm, Sony, and Sega. Sergio’s work is featured in The Art of Clone Wars published by Chronicle Books, in The Art of Darkwatch, published by Design Studio Press, and was featured at the Totoro Forest Project Art Exhibition. Justin is a 3D Story Artist who lives in San Francisco. He helped pioneer 3D Storytelling for Lucasfilm Animation. He started his career in Sydney in 1994, and since then has worked at some of the best visual effects companies in the world. Over the years Justin has worked on award-winning TV commercials and blockbuster Hollywood hits, such as Star Wars, Lord of The Rings and The Day After Tomorrow. We are fortunate to have Justin as our 3D Story and Previz contributor.

Anthony Luis Rivera received his BFA with a concentration in Animation for Illustration from the Academy of Art University. He obtained a certificate in Web Design from Academy X in San Francisco. He is currently a contract graphic artist and Web site designer focusing on startup companies and local Bay Area artists. Anthony’s preferred medium is digital art. He is currently working on series of digital drawing entitled Chef’s in Action and on color marker drawings entitled The Female Figure. Anthony specializse in Photoshop, Fireworks, and Illustrator.

Charles Lin

Charles is currently pursuing his 2nd degree in Animation with an emphasis in storyboarding at the Academy of Art University. His first degree was a double major BA in Film/Media Studies and Political Science from Washington University in St. Louis. Charles is from Honolulu, Hawaii, and according to Lt. Colonel Kilgore in Apocalypse Now, “does not surf.” He would like to learn how to surf.

James O’Shea

James is a senior at the Cogswell Polytechnical College in Sunnyvale, CA, studying Entertainment Design. His passion is in visual storytelling through traditional mediums such as clay, acrylics, and through digital media. He is an avid collector of art books, and really enjoys creating in Key Frame, Color Scripts, and Concept Sculpture. James’ ultimate goal is to work for the Weta Workshop in New Zealand designing and sculpting for film productions. In the meantime, James is still searching for his own artistic and personal potential.

Jason Hill

Jason is a transplant from Cincinnati / northern Kentucky. He first came to the Bay Area in 1998. Since then he has traveled to and from San Francisco a few times before finally settling in 2008. He holds two degrees: Filmmaking and Cinema Studies from San Francisco State University. Jason’s focus is on screenwriting, story brainstorming, and post-production. As a contributor to StoryboardArt.org, Jason provides content and content maintenance through blog posts, category updates, graphic design, and the occasional, well-timed one-liner joke. In his personal time Jason enjoys playing guitar, attending rock shows, and philosophizing about his existence.

Favorite Film: Seven Samurai by Akira Kurosawa

Favorite Band: Three way tie between Joy Division, Modest Mouse, and Sonic Youth.
