September’s Featured Artist’s: Algarmi, Sigua, and Natividad

This month’s featured Artist is a trio of Independent comic book artist. These guys were recently featured in a blog about pop culture. Below, you will find the first issue of their comic: The Society of Unordinary Young Ladies (S.O.U.Y.L.). Here is a break down of who is who on this amazing team:

Wahab Algarmi, is an accomplished fine artist born and raised in Oakland CA. His work has been shown all over the Bay Area including at San Francisco’s The Legion of Honor. Comic book making is a passion of the artist as well. He’s been self publishing comics since 2000. His latest comic book effort has been writing and plotting “The Society Of Unordinary Young Ladies” for artist Joel Sigua, along with cover artist, Jeremy Natividad. Joel Sigua, is an illustrator/comic artist looking to expand his horizons in the art world. He recently worked on the latest issue of the self published comic The Society of Unordinary Young Ladies by Sturdy Comics. He also created the character designs and illustrations for the collectible card game High School Drama! by Shifting Skies Games. Joel’s style is influenced by traditional 2D animation and a bit of urban graffiti style. A blog of his random sketches can be found at siguastyle.bolgspot.com
