“The Hurt Locker,” “Up,” and the Oscars (and “Alice”) !

“The Hurt Locker” wins big with the Best Picture Oscar as well as a defining award for director Kathryn Bigelow.

Meanwhile “Up” flies high with Best Animated Feature as well as Original Score, while “Logorama” snatches the Best Animated Short film.

First time nominee Geoffrey Fletcher won an Oscar for the adapted screenplay of “Precious: Based on the Novel by Sapphire,” and former journalist Mark Boal won for his original screenplay of “The Hurt Locker.”

In the show biz news, “Alice in Wonderland reeled in a huge audience over the weekend. “Alice in Wonderland” enchanted audiences with a $116 million weekend box office estimate.
