Our final spotlight on Oscar nominated shorts showcases ‘Granny O’Grimm’s Sleeping Beauty’ and ‘Wallace & Gromit: A Matter of Loaf and Death’…plus more reviews!

By Charles Lin

“Granny O’Grimm’s Sleeping Beauty,” directed by Nicky Phelan and written by Kathleen O’Rourke, is the fourth Oscar nominee this year for Best Animated Short. Its official site has a wealth of fun games and ambience and information. This is a great message by Granny O’Grimm about the Oscars.

Finally, the last Oscar nominated short has the loveable duo, Wallace and Gromit in “Wallace & Gromit: A Matter of Loaf and Death.” Directed by Nick Park, the Aardman animation short can’t go wrong! The official site is great.

Good luck to all the Oscar nominees!

In Reviewland, “Alice in Wonderland” gets 55% rating from rottentomatoes.com…meanwhile its vegetable counterpart, The Onion—its AV Club also gave it a mixed review.

The Film Independent Spirit Awards will be shown tonight (Friday night) at 8pm on the IFC channel.
